How It Works
Complete the contact form specifying your visit dates, site interests, and preferred membership tier. If you are unsure, note that and we will advise.
A researcher reviews your enquiry within one business day and confirms the appropriate membership and any site-specific considerations relevant to your travel period.
Pay by card or bank transfer. Your member account is activated within two hours of payment confirmation and you receive your PDF packs and access credentials by email.
Use your membership portal to access guides, schedule consultations, submit queries, and receive weekly alert bulletins. We are available throughout your membership year.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and you pay only the prorated difference for the remaining months of your current term. A simple email to our team is all that is needed and the adjustment is processed within one business day. There is no administrative fee for upgrading.
Students enrolled in accredited universities and currently pursuing a qualification that includes ancient history, archaeology, Egyptology, or heritage management can access the Scholar tier at the Explorer price, upon verification of a valid student ID issued within the past twelve months. Contact us with your institution details and a scan of your ID card before making payment.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and international bank transfer. Card payments are processed in Egyptian Pounds (EGP) or US Dollars at the prevailing rate. The card payment page is secured with 256-bit TLS encryption. For institutional bank transfers, we issue an invoice in EGP or USD on request with a 14-day payment term.
Scholar and Expedition members receive a printed A5 field reference booklet by international registered post. Delivery typically takes 7–14 working days to European and North American addresses, and up to 21 days for other destinations. The booklet contains our most critical practical data in a compact, offline-ready format designed for use at sites with no mobile coverage. Seasonal addenda cards covering any changes that occur between printing and your departure are sent separately as needed.
No. We do not apply automatic renewal. You will receive a renewal reminder email 30 days before your membership expires, followed by a final reminder at 7 days. Renewal is entirely your choice. There are no cancellation fees or lock-in clauses. If you do not renew, your account remains accessible for a 30-day grace period with read-only access to your downloaded materials.
Yes. Institutional memberships are available for academic departments, museums, heritage organisations, and tour operators. These are structured as multi-seat accounts covering between 3 and 50 named users. Institutional pricing is quoted individually based on number of seats, planned usage patterns, and any bespoke data requirements. Contact us with your organisation's name, type, and approximate number of users and we will send a tailored proposal within three working days.
What You Receive
New members frequently ask us what to do first after their account is activated. Here is a practical sequence that experienced members have found useful.
Within two hours of payment, you receive an activation email with login credentials and a link to your member dashboard. From the dashboard, navigate immediately to the site files for your confirmed destinations and download the PDF intelligence packs. These are formatted for offline use and include a confidence date on the cover page indicating when the data was last physically verified. If that date is more than six months old for your primary destination, contact us — we will update the file before your departure if the next scheduled inspection falls within your travel window.
The second task we recommend is subscribing to site alerts for your specific destinations. Navigate to alert preferences in your dashboard and tick each site you plan to visit. You will then receive targeted email notifications only when those specific sites have confirmed access changes — rather than the full feed, which covers all forty-seven locations. This keeps your inbox manageable while ensuring you miss nothing relevant.
Scholar and Expedition members should book their itinerary consultation session at least three weeks before departure. To book, email us directly with three proposed time slots in EET (Cairo time, UTC+2) and the names of the sites you want to prioritise. The session itself runs sixty minutes and is conducted by video call. Afterwards you receive a written session summary — typically delivered within forty-eight hours — which you can use as a planning reference document throughout your trip.
Expedition members also have access to a direct email address for a named senior researcher. This contact is provided in your activation email. It is intended for substantive research questions and logistical queries — not for general support, which is handled through the standard team inbox. Responses from your named researcher are typically returned on the same business day for queries received before 13:00 EET.
